YOUR LAND.
YOUR RIGHTS. YOUR VOICE.
MY STORY.
A LANDOWNER STANDING UP AGAINST POWER AND BULLYING.
THE STORY BEHIND THE CAMPAIGN
I never imagined I would be forced to fight for basic rights over my own land. But that's exactly what has happened.
I own and manage a piece of land that has been in my family for generations. Without my permission and without a valid wayleave in place, an energy company's infrastructure was installed on my land many years ago.
Now, after finally standing up and asking for proof of their legal rights, I have been subjected to a campaign of mental bullying, intimidation and unfair treatment by their solicitors.
This is not just about me.
This is about every landowner.
If they can do this to me, they can do it to anyone.
It has to stop.
WHAT I’VE SUFFERED
-
MENTAL BULLYING & INTIMIDATION
Aggressive, threatening and unreasonable behaviour designed to wear me down and silence me.
-
UNNECESSARY LEGAL THREATS
Endless letters full of threats, accusations and legal jargon to scare me into giving up my rights.
-
STRESS & ANXIETY
Weeks and months of sleepless nights, panic and constant stress affecting my health and wellbeing.
-
FINANCIAL PRESSURE
Forcing me to spend thousands defending my rights instead of enjoying and improving my land.
-
IMPACT ON FAMILY LIFE
The emotional toll has affected my family, our time together and our peace of mind.
-
LOSS OF PEACE & FREEDOM
Living in fear of what the next letter, threat or action will be.

“No landowner should have to go through what I've been through just for asking an energy company to prove their legal right to be on their own land.”

WHO I WAS DEALING WITH
The person I was dealing with in relation to this matter was Henry Church of CBRE, acting on behalf of the energy company.
My experience of the correspondence and actions taken during this dispute left me feeling pressured, intimidated and determined to stand up for my rights as a landowner.
This section is included to document my experience and explain why I decided to speak publicly.
